Dominion-Chalmers United Church / Carleton University Up Date to Congregation
Since the last verbal update given to the Congregation July 2, 2017, the Negotiating Team of David C. Hayman, Chair of Council; Peter Fisher, Chair of the Board of Trustees; and Rev. James Murray met with the new Interim President of Carleton University, Dr. Alastair Summerlee, on Wednesday, August 10, 2017. During this meeting the three of us signed an Expression of Interest document with Carleton University. This expression of interest document outlined the bases of a 90 day study that Carleton University will be carrying out. They have contracted KPMG Consultants to assist. Carleton is investing considerable time, money and resources into this study. Since signing this document there has been considerable interaction between Carleton and Dominion-Chalmers with at least four different engineering consulting firms evaluating the building and potential upgrades. At present the 90 day study timeline is on track for a decision by the end of October.
